How 14 Blocks works

1- We analyse your Twitter followers We look into your followers activities to determine the likelihood that they will see a tweet from you. We make an estimation based on how they tweet (source) and who they are (number of friends.) More detailed information below. |
2- See when your followers are online After the analysis is done, we display the aggregation of your best times by 15min increments for each day of the week. We refresh the your data every week and add/remove followers. |
3- Schedule tweets Schedule specific tweets for your best times or simply create tweets and choose the frequency which you'd like to run them and we'll automatically find the best time and tweet from you. |
Ok, so how exactly does 14 Blocks find out when my followers are online?
We basically look at aspects from your followers: (1) How they tweet, and (2) Who they are.

1- How they tweet There are over one million services publishing data to Twitter. Many of these services do it automatically on users behalf, so simply doing an average of when your followers tweet isn't enough. We look into every recent tweet from your followers and decide the likelihood that they will see your tweet at that moment. Are they using mobile apps? Desktop? Automated services? We assign different weighs to each tweet and aggregate them all. We show you all this data in 15min increments for each day of the week by language. |
2- Who they are After we've done the analysis from your followers' tweets, we take a look at who they are. Are you one of their 100,000 followers or one of 100? The more followers with a low following count you have, the better your chances of getting their attention. Because people change their behavior from time to time, we are constantly updating users activities and your weekly report. |
